- What is the pin connection between USB and DB9 (RS-232) connectors?
- Can a USB-to-9-Pin Pin (Male) RS-232 Cable (pn 17394) be used between a laptop and a CR10 datalogger, which has a storage module (SM192)?
- I recently bought a laptop to replace an older laptop we used to communicate with four 21X Microloggers®. I discovered the new laptop did not have an RS-232 DB-9 port, but it does have two USB ports. I understand that the CS I/O port on the 21X is not standard RS-232 protocol. Will the 17394 cable work with the 21X or do you have another cable that will? Or do I need to do something else?
- I'm looking for a wind monitor (speed and direction) that could be used with a tethered balloon system. The main feature I'm concerned with (aside from weight) is a built-in datalogger. Would you have anything that would meet this requirement or do all your systems require direct wiring to a separate datalogger.
- Can the wind monitor be used without your datalogger?
- If an existing wind set is replaced with a wind monitor (05103-L, 05103-45-L, 05106-L, 05305-L), will more than the multiplier and offset have to be changed in the datalogger program?
- We have an R.M. Young marine anemometer with a cable that is about 13 ft long. We would like to extend the cable another 20 ft or so. Do you sell a separate extension cable for the anemometer?
- What is the power consumption (mA) of the 05103, 05305, and 05106 anemometers?
- What is the procedure for orienting my wind sensor to the cardinal directions so that the wind direction readings are correct?
- How can the 229-L be calibrated?
- How are readings obtained from the 229-L?
- Is calibration of the 229-L available?
- If several 229-L probes begin returning very low positive and negative values for dT, what might be the cause?
- How should the AM25T be used?
- Can the AM25T be connected to an analog input channel on a device other than a data logger, such as a programmable logic controller (PLC)?
- How can the datalogger build a text string and send it out the RS-232 port?
- Instead of purchasing the entire 03001-L R. M. Young Wind Sentry Set, can I purchase just the Wind Sentry anemometer or Wind Sentry wind direction sensor to replace a bad unit from a previously purchased set?
- I plan to set up an eddy covariance system in a remote wetland located in Michigan's upper peninsula. This site does not have power and is difficult to get to. I would like to set up a communication system that allows me to monitor the data from my office (Michigan Tech). There is a research station near the site (less than 5 km away--Seney National Wildlife Refuge) that could be used to collect the data before bouncing it to me.
- I am writing from Universidad de Cuenca in Ecuador, and I would like to know if we can use ST-20 Argos Satellite Transmitter in Ecuador? Are there other choices for Ecuador?
- Do Campbell systems support other satellite networks such as Iridium and Orbcomm? If the answer is "yes", do you know if the area of Somalia is covered by those services?
