Company History

Just read our history page for the frist time in a while with a view to copy/paste to the new site. It's pretty out of date and regionalised and the CSI text looks like it hasn't been updated since 2004 either. Both are way too wordy and perhaps should be more of a time line than essay?

Shouldn't we, as a global group, share a single timeline/history with major milestones across the group rather copying the US line until our own offices open than diverging into a regional version? We could show increases in global staff employed, global datalogger sales, new offices opening, offices expanding or moving to new premises, major product developments including those from CSC, CSA and ourselves. We could still have a page with our more detailed regional highlights if we wanted as a link from the main 'corporate' page. What do others think?

I think a coordinated Company History would be a good thing. Alternatively, I think a company statement "About" what we are and what we do as a Group of Campbell Scientific companies might be a great substitute for a timeline history. This description about us could be much shorter, to the point, and still highlight our global presence, innovation, commitment to the scientific community, and desire to provide solutions in a board range of both general and niche markets. What do others think about this more direct "About" approach in place of a timeline history?

If we still want a corporate history account of sorts, we could work it into the museum or perhaps an expanded section elsewhere.

Rgds,
Joshua
