SDM-CD8S cable lengths

jarlu Apr 13, 2017 06:23 PM

Hi,

I am planning to control a stack light and a buzzer using an SDM-CD8S.  In looking at the manual, I ran into this note:

In most installations the total length of the cables connecting the SDM-CD8S and other SDM peripherals should not exceed 20 feet.

This was in a paragraph discussing wiring multiple SDM-CD8Ss in parallel, but I wanted to clarify what falls under the term peripherals.  Will I run into communication/control issues with the stack light and buzzer if the distance between them and the SDM-CD8S is greater than 20'?

Thanks!

The 20ft refers to the length of cable between the datalogger and the SDM devices. The stack light and buzzer cable lengths don't factor into the 20ft.
