What determines Table Fill Time

changxing Aug 17, 2022 07:50 AM

I tested a logger program with two CR6 dataloggers, the Status Table shows that the Table Fill Time are different between these two dataloggers, one is about 33 min and the other is 12 min. So what determines the Table Fill Time?

Hi. If you have loaded the exact same program without any differences on to the CR6 dataloggers, then the amount of memory available on the two dataloggers and settings in them will influence the Table Fill Times.

For example, there is an option to create a USR area that can be defined in the memory which would take up some of the area.

The OS in the datalogger has some algorithms to calculate Table Fill Times based on the rate of memory storage, overwriting and type of memory (SRAM v Flash, etc.) . There are some details on our website which may help here:-

How can the amount of time before the memory of a data logger is filled be calculated? (campbellsci.co.uk)

To ensure both CR6 have the same OS loaded (same algorithm calculations) and all settings cleared, it would be best to send the latest OS to both CR6 and then load the program again to see if they correspond in memory allocation.
