Unfortunatly the CR300 family of dataloggers does not have the amount of memory required to support SNMP well.  We don't recommend using the CR300 for SNMP applications. The other loggers do support SNMP well.

Gary, I just discovered this post as I'm searching for some advanced examples of using ESSInitialize, mainly to limit the number of variables supplied.  Your answer here is interesting to me, as we use this convenient (and necessary) feature of ESSInitialize to declare all the MIBs required by NTCIP for Environmental Sensor Stations (ESS).  We do utilize SNMP as well.  You mention "the amount of memory required", and I'm wondering how this may affect the performance of our CR1000 design, as well as future possibilities for a CR310?  What exactly are the memory and performance implications of ESSInitialize and using SNMP?  Do you have recommendations for configuration if we do utilize this?

I am wondering if we are experiencing repurcussions to this, as a few sites receiving skipped records errors, sometimes as many as 200 a week.  This is with the most current OS releases.
