How is an Aspen™10 used in hurricane measurements?

The Aspen 10 is a self-contained edge device that turns a single sensor into a complete, easy-to-deploy weather station. Because it houses its own data logger, solar panel, battery, and cellular modem, the Aspen 10 doesn’t need a separate enclosure or power source. Paired with a sensor such as the BaroVue™10 Digital Barometer, the Aspen 10 powers the sensor, records the readings, and sends the data to the cloud in real-time.

If skies are too overcast for the solar panel to charge, the internal battery keeps recording on its own. If cell service is interrupted during the storm, the Aspen 10 stores the data and transmits it as soon as the cell service is restored.

This type of station can be set up in minutes and continues working throughout the storm.
